It appears I am entertaining all the flying insects again this evening as they are accumulating on the window next to my desk. My little lamp attracts them and they swarm! At least there is no noise like bees would make. Occasionally something larger throws itself against the glass and makes a regular thump thump thump until it figures out the window is not budging!
While sitting here I worked on some Outreach newsletters for mailing to our prospects. With Holy Week coming up soon, those special services and events, it was important I get them printed and ready to go. Formerly I would hand-address them but have now resorted to running them through the printer at the same time that I print the ‘below the fold’ information. Fold the page in half, place a piece of tape to hold it together and away we go! It is a bit less personal but sure moves the process along. I hand-address the newsletters for our members away, called “Keeping the Faith” but it matters more to have the personal touch, in my opinion.
When my sister, Lynn, was here the last time, she found some TV stations that I did not know I should get. In fact, they do not even show up on the program guide, so I wonder if perhaps they are here by mistake. Our cable is provided by the Condo Association through our monthly dues, the basic plan, but I think everyone else upgrades their packages. I am too cheap….But the other night when there is nothing else on TV, I found a “Frasier Marathon” on LFM, which turned out to be Lifetime (please don’t tell Justin I watch Lifetime!!!). How fun to be barraged with Frasier for hours on end! He is coming in handy again this evening as I worked at my desk. I have to use the arrow-up feature on the remote control to access the channel which also indicates to me that this station should not be there. Hmmm.....
Speaking of working, I have to go to work on Wednesday, as the church secretary has to go out of town for a funeral. So glad this did not happen during Holy Week or I would go wild with all that to do!! Hopefully I remember how to do it….have not worked in the church office since last fall when she went to Hawaii for vacation. But that time, she had a chance to do some of the work ahead but not this time due to the urgency of her situation.
Bible study today was good, watching the “Matthew” video, hearing the actor/Jesus preach about the “Seven Woes”, addressing the ‘brood of vipers’ Pharisees and teachers of the law. At one point, the actor gets quite emotional in his frustration and sorrow, causing a couple of us to get ‘water eyes’. Oh, the pain expressed over the lost, those who turned their backs on the Word. ‘Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem….” May we never turn our backs on the Lord! Next week we move on to the "Signs of the End of the Age" . This discussion which will certainly move me to tears, as it often does when talking about those last days. Jesus warns the 'love of most grows cold'...Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
