No longer on the river and, again, an empty nester. Back to living on Fleming Island and making some more friends!

Taking the afternoon off

At least part of the afternoon, that is. Judy and I enjoyed a more leisurely morning with some chat time in the river room, before heading to the massage parlor. At least that's what I like to call it---teeheehee. Carol gave my dear friend the royal treatment of orthobionomy, easing any possible aches and pains Judy may have had in her bones. She is totally sold on this type of therapy now and plans to seek out someone in her area that uses orthobionomy. Judy was treated from the bottoms of her feet to the tippy top of her head, even coming away with a jazzy hair style and some feel-good products to take home with her. So so glad she enjoyed her special treatment with my dear massage lady, Carol!

While Judy was being pampered, I ran a few errands such as going to the bank, filling the gas tank, and filling my Sonic cup before heading over to wait for her at Great Hang Ups. After her massage therapy, Judy was getting her hair done, just a new 'do' to freshen her look so it wasn't long before she found her way down the sidewalk to Dee's shop. The two ladies, who only met each other yesterday, first at the shop and later over the dinner table, have really hit it off famously---much to my delight!

After a lovely visit with Dee and later, Julia, we decided to head over to the Thrasher-Horne Center to see the Art Guild's show, which includes my "purple trees" piece. We both greatly enjoyed what we saw, except for few dog paintings, which, of course, are certainly personal preferences. Judy took a photo or two of me posing with my purple trees, a piece I've titled "Rain Unites Earth and Sky". Once I've entered three times and been accepted thrice, Julia claims that makes me an official artiste! Thinking quickly, I replied that I wouldn't be an official artiste until I sell a piece and Martie, rightly so, has said, "and she won't sell one, either!" Who knows? The right price, the right person, I just may become official whether I like it or not!

Upon our leaving the art center, I took Judy over to see the lake house and surrounding area. She appreciates being able to put a picture in her mind now after meeting my friends and extended family as well as my homes and community. We are all kicking ourselves for not taking any photos last night when the ladies were all here to "Meat and Greet" (cute, huh?). While I made the festive bird for our dinner, others shared the complimentary items such as mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pie, apple crisp, stuffing, plus the wonderful dish Judy made complete with squash, cheeses, and onions. Yummm! Even I liked it!

It was good to be able to introduce my dear friend to my other dear friends around the table. Joining in the feast was Martie, Julia, Janet, Sandy, Joanne, Jennifer, Brenda N., Betty, and Dee. A more joyful time could not have been had! As a way of helping Judy get to know the ladies, I asked each of my guests to introduce themselves and explain how we know one another. Some were more wordy than others, and some not as much, Dee being one of those. She wanted to tell Judy and the others how we became intertwined in each other's life, but got a bit choked up and so, was brief. Today she expressed her surprise that she was as moved as she was about her "introduction" to Justin and me, more about being introduced to Timmy. And that was why she was emotional last night and kept her comments to a minimum. Of course, I assured her there was no reason to feel badly, as many knew she was the artist who did Timmy's portrait plus the gift of the oil painting she did of Timmy and his father walking between some trees, with Timmy wearing the same outfit as shown in the portrait.

Judy is enjoying herself greatly, especially today with our leftover foods as our meals, taken as needed. In particular she loves the sweet potato pie Joanne left behind for us after the feast. I can live without it but did gobble up my remains from our Tuesday lunch at Koko's later this afternoon, as we are simply hanging out until time to leave for choir rehearsal. We watched a couple episodes of "If Walls Could Talk" on HGTV, which is a treat for Judy since she doesn't have cable TV where she lives. Most certainly the air feels colder than it did when the sun was out, and we arrived home after our nice car ride in the drizzle. A perfect chatting and viewing and hanging out type of day!!!!
