No longer on the river and, again, an empty nester. Back to living on Fleming Island and making some more friends!

The lost day

Let's try this again on another computer....I hope what I write stays here this time. I tried to use my 'old' latpop for the previous posting with great portions being lost in the blogosphere.

Linda and I spent the majority of the day at or around the pool. Let's back up a bit first. Last night we enjoyed the Happy Hour gathering at the pool where we were treated to salty snacks plus the Chef brought out a fruit and cheese tray for our enjoyment. Later, when most were leaving, he brought a warm chocolate bread pudding in two dishes and a handful of spoons. Oh my, was that ever delicious!
She looks so relaxed!
This morning we went to Great Hang Ups because I needed to pay my entry fee for the show in which my photograph is being shown. Sunday is the opening of the show so we plan to go back for that. After Hang Ups we went to Wal*Mart to pick up a scrip for me plus did a little shopping in the aisles. I found a new movie to add to the collection called "October Baby". Looks interesting....

After getting back from our errands today, we went to the pool to have lunch. And it began to rain! Fortunately Lee was out there to share the rainy afternoon with us, plus great conversation. Linda had told me about a segment on Fox and Friends this a.m. by an author with whom I am familiar. He wrote a well-known book about birth order and has a new book out regarding relationship between moms and sons. After we left the cabana, Lee went home and immediately downloaded it to her Kindle to read for herself. I am so anxious to hear from her how she likes it.

Linda and I had gone to Bealls Friday afternoon where I found a couple tops and a pair of shoes. Linda found the perfect grilling tool for Tommy so he won't burn the hair off his knuckles every time he flips burgers! We were kaput before long, having done alot of walking and some sitting before the shopping. It helps Linda's knees and hips to walk and it helps to sit!

Friday morning we met the two Judys at the Mall to see a movie, "Last Ounce of Courage". Oh my goodness---such a wonderful movie it was!!!!! As soon as the movie began, the two Judys moved up higher in the stadium seats so they could see better but Linda and I stayed where we were. Even as the previews were running, tears were running as well. Some very good movies are coming this fall, "can't miss" movies!

We cried from the start of the movie to the end of the credits. As we stood up, I said to the Judys, "Bet you're glad you moved away from us!" because of the sobbing but they admitted they were crying as well. Judy C. said, "You must have needed a bucket!" and I told her my shirt was soaking wet. We looked as though we were pulled through a keyhole, oh my!

We chose to have lunch at TGIF and were able to dine alfresco. I ordered the pretzel bread sticks which came with beer cheese sauce to dip them in. I could have made a meal on that alone! The best! The two Judys had soup and salad, with Linda ordering chicken fingers. I had my standard Sesame Jack chicken appetizer with the currant and Jack Daniels' dipping sauce. Because of the pretzel bread sticks, I was unable to finish my meal. I really need to get back there for some more of those bread sticks!

Already I have mentioned the time poolside and the goodies there, as well as the nice visit. But more about that another time, after I have had a good night's sleep. The time is going past too quickly for my tastes!
