Jesus Triumphs Over Tragedy

This day started early and am glad that I set the alarm on my cell phone to wake me. At 8:30 a.m. I had to be at an appointment and had a chance to "talk shop" with Diane, my financial manager. We talked about our business stuff first and then shifted gears to talk a bit of politics, mostly local in nature, and then of course, our faith conversations. She's had some tragedies in her life, too, so we are good for each other in many ways.

Today, though, I took her a little present--a service folder from Timmy's funeral. (For the benefit of new readers: Timmy drowned on January 14, 2001 in our backyard pool.) We talked about the outpouring of love that was experienced that week and forward. I also told her about having the funeral service on video so that I can watch and listen to the service, hear the wonderful message from Pastor Prange, see faces again of those who have now gone ahead of us to heaven, and just have a good, hard cry so I can enjoy a pounding headache. A little like biting on a sore tooth.....

Well, off I go to spend some time with Christine. We are finally getting together and doing our thing, and hopefully have a regular date on selected Fridays enjoying some culture and a "little lunch"!
Have a good day, all!
