No longer on the river and, again, an empty nester. Back to living on Fleming Island and making some more friends!

As if you haven't seen enough pictures.......

These photos basically speak for themselves as the funnel grows, fades, drops water, gathers it, and reforms into a cylinder shape.....

This is really so cool, and the good news is that there was no damage other than some power outages for a bit....The neighboring building is shown in this photo.

The staff from The Club gathered on our bulkhead to watch the tornado....the bosses must have been gone for the day or they would never have gotten away with this! Notice the flag being whipped by the wind? We even had "surfing" waves on the river but only for a very brief time. The water tower at the Navy base is on the right side of the picture. Traffic on the bridge continued though many pulled over to watch/take pictures, or like my friend, Linda did, went to the base to find a better view of the whole thing!

Am I getting old or just or just mixed up.......I thought that seeing N.A.S. that would be looking north......isn't Green Cove south? That sure must have been an amazing sight to see! Mom

Hi Mom,

Well, you are old, but that has nothing to do with this....The base is north, as is the Buckmann Bridge, from where I live. I did not mention Green Cove Springs in this posting at all.

It truly was amazing and only a little scary for me when I thought Justin might be on the Buckmann heading for home, since it was right around 5:00 pm. He was at his father's house and I told him to seek shelter, while Ellen and I stayed in the window, watching.....

Hugs,

Kim
