Hey, what is going on with the cable service?

Oh, wait, never mind, it seems to be fixed. We cannot be messing with the cable in this building, not that too on top of the various and sundry repairs going on. There are people everywhere, hanging off the side of the building or balancing on the "cherry picker" stretching for spots that appear just out of reach. Somewhere in the building trim work is being done because ever so often I hear the buzz of a miter saw, doing the quick cuts needed for piecing. Perhaps, with all the "buzz" going on with the building, the cable was interrupted or damaged. All is well now, and "House" reruns are playing. I am done with radio listening at this time of the day, and am ready for my rest!

This a.m. was spent working on a few things for church, including putting together a notice and sign-up sheet for an upcoming show at the Thrasher-Horne called "Church Basement Ladies". The title alone captures my fancy, because even though we have no basement, we do have church ladies!!! It is promoted as being "family friendly" with good, clean humor. This group of four ladies, assorted shapes, sizes and age groups work together on church projects and meals, sharing their life stories, sorrows and joys. It sounds quite funny, with the best part being that there is a dinner following the show, consisting of a Southern-style bbq! Does that sound yummy or what??? I hope we get a favorable response to this, being at a more local venue for most of Orange Park, and in the afternoon for those not given to night driving.

Oh, oh! The sky over my right shoulder has taken on quite the darkened appearance as the time for the rush hour storms grows closer. Today there was a fatal crash between a bicyclist and a motorcycle on south Blanding Blvd., with the bicyclist dying, and the other biker being transported in critical condition. The roads in the area were closed with traffic being rerouted around the crash site. More sadness in our county again this week.

Lunch today was shared with Maggie and Marissa, her daughter, at Koko's. Ellen and her daughter did not make it but none of us were too surprised by this. We just must find something to drag Ellen out and amongst the living again, too many days go by without catching sight of her. Anyway, Marissa, a teacher, is going to work next week so this was our sendoff as she begins her career as Drama Teacher at a high school in Jax. Following in her mama's footsteps, and her father's too, I hear. Huang was our cook today, as the owner made sure he got our table so I had my special onion in lieu of other veggies. He is the best chef! Yummy! Leftovers all around, with me sharing some of the chicken with Caesar Augustus, Julia's dog. Somehow he knows when I have been to Koko's, unless, of course, he recognizes the to-go box.....smart dog!

I am still here even though I don't always comment. How can you rest with the noise? Let me know your secret. I must get up and get going for work. It is supposed to be a hazy humid day today. Took the AC out last Wed. and put it back it on Sunday. After driving home from Jamie's without AC did it for me. Well have a great day and I will comment again. Hot sticky hugs!

Good Morning Kim,
Just letting you know I do read your blog, but didn't leave comments. I typed this message before, but I had to make a google account before it would accept it.
Have a Wonderful Day. Love ya

Hi Jill,

I know you are there and faithfully reading, it was the Facebook friends who were not aware of the blog I was addressing.

The "noise" from the work takes place in the daytime, and most of the time it is more activity than racket, once the jack hammer work was completed.

Because I am so nosy, even at the pool I am looking around to figure out where the noise was coming from. The roof on the next building over is being replaced, too, so lots going on at The Club!

Glad you have your A/C working again, freezer cleaning must be a pleasure!

We have had some hot temps 'round here, too, mid to high 90's...water aerobics today and then lunch with Hilchey's!

Hugs,

Kim

Hi Marcia!

Thanks for working so hard to find and read the blog! I used to print it off and mail it to Marian because she has no Internet but I sort of quit doing that.....

I am wishing a great day for you, too, and hope you have good weather finally!

Hugs,

Kim

Kim,
I forgot to tell you about the "Church Basement Ladies", Marilynn Behmer has seen them twice, she loved them. They were in Sheboygan but it didn't work out for us to get there. I think Tim Conway was with them. You should love them.

Hi Linda J.:

Oh, you know my routine so well! We most certainly will go to see my dear friends at Great Hang Ups and have lunch, and have all sorts of good times....

Maybe even take a ride to St. Augustine for some time on St. George Street!

Strawberry mojitos to fight the humidity,

Love, Kim

Oh, good! I am glad the "show" got great reviews and hopefully we have a nice turnout for ours. It will be $50 total for the best seats and the lunch, but there are cheaper seats. It is a way off yet so I won't post the sign up sheet just yet!

Hugs,

Kim

Hi Jill!

I had to read and re-read your comment because I could not find a reference in my posting about the A/C this time....Then I saw your first comment to me and figured it out! Yes, I realized it was your window unit you were talking about but at work, in the freezer, you must be cool....Three days of summer and counting for you guys???

Sweaty hugs,

Kim
