Getting back to right

There is little I like better than being right, and now, with Justin back home, I am right less often. Rats! When I was divorced, and it was only Justin and me, I used to say, "Now I am only going to be wrong half the time!" But, after the big mess from Thursday's event, I am getting right once more. Order is being returned!

I was supposed to be attending the LWMS Rally at Beverly Hills, FL, with Judy C., Gretchen, and Nancy M. (from Victory) today but decided I needed the time to get things organized and cleaned up here before Linda arrives Wednesday.

Tuesday Mike K. is coming to hang some temporary lights in the guest bathroom so Linda will be able to at least make use of the potty and shower in there. She will be able to unplug the drying blower when she's sleeping and turn it back on in the morning so the drying continues. Wednesday, before she gets here, a drywall doctor is coming to check it over and give me his opinion.

Also on Tuesday, Dee is coming by for a quick visit (we miss each other since she retired from the shop!) so I do look forward to that. She is working on something over at The Club so will be in the neighborhood. I had taken in a piece to have the frame changed and she will deliver it to me.

On the night before Timmy died, he was busy painting pictures at his little table which sat in the dinette. Mom and I played Scrabble while he painted pictures---one for me, and one for Pastor Prange. He gave Pete his picture at church the next day before Sunday school. Dee had framed mine for me (and later, Pete's) several years ago but the other pieces I have grouped with it had matching frames. Julia changed the frame for me, to blend with the others, and I will get it back before Linda arrives. It will be right!

So, anyway, Tuesday will be occupied with visits and fixes. At some point I wish to get my car cleaned and washed, and have the tires checked for road readiness as next Sunday Linda, Justin, and I are going south to church at Palm Coast and then lunch at the Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine. We won't be doing much tourist-wise there as Linda is yet recovering from her knee replacement surgery in December but Justin has offered to be our chauffeur and deposit us close to the door to avoid much long-distance walking. I want to be sure the car is in good shape so we don't have to walk along I-95 for any reason!

The kitchen is stacked with trash bags and other garbage waiting to go down to the dumpster after cleaning and sorting and organizing. It seems to get worse before it gets better when putting things to right! The shelving unit was re-installed in Justin's bathroom, taken out to accommodate the plumber's work on Friday, and all the stuff put back into it, once in place. The bed clothes were washed for the guest bed and it's made up, ready for Linda. She said all she needs is a place to sleep and the rest doesn't matter---what a champ! We'll spend the majority of time in the family room or in my room anyway!

Justin is moving one of the wing-backed chairs into my bedroom for Linda to use while we watch the Roku TV in here. We both enjoy the same Internet program and the Roku only works in this room. He was concerned that I would not be able to tote the footstool between the rooms as needed, but after the hauling I did on Thursday, I can certainly handle the footstool! Linda requested I make a kettle of my chili when she is here so we will have that on Saturday night, for Dinner and a Movie. I can only invite one more to watch with us since the other chair will be in my room. That's fine, I just have to decide who to ask!

Late afternoon I went to Winn Dixie to get some soda and a few other items. It was incredibly windy all day long, the sound of it actually woke me in the morning. Good thing I am built low to the ground so I wouldn't blow away. Wow! I felt badly for the wedding group at The Club, you could imagine their hair being extremely wind-blown before it was over.To say nothing of their dresses being attacked...

Dinner consisted of leftover vegetable soup, served with these luscious butterflake rolls from WD, the only place I have ever found them. I shall get some to serve with the chili next week! I had to pick up doughnut holes to serve at church in the morning, for our LWMS Mission Sunday social after the service. The cherry flavored ones were a dollar less than the apple ones, for some reason. How odd is that? Cherry it is!

When I needed a break today, I worked on some stuff at my desk, including an updated sheet of who is who in The Palace. With people moving in and out of the rented units recently, it was hard for me to keep up with e-mails and such. When emergencies arise, like floods, we need to have contact info for those units involved. Hugh worked on revising with the new information, still missing a few phone numbers. But at least I could provide for some of the blanks he had, and that will help. Besides, I need to be able to e-mail people the newsletter when the time is right!
