My friend who lives a few blocks to the south of me took this photo and shared it on Facebook this morning. I state this in case you wonder where the dock came from. Owene was a teacher of Justin's years back at St. Johns and for a while hung out at the pool. Did not see her much this sesaon so she must have found somewhere else to go for her lap swimming.
I can count on Owene or my neighbor on the property, Sharon, for helping capture amazing sights along the river. We have a full moon presently which is at last free of the clouds and is shimmering on the water. Hopefully the rains are over for the rest of the week. Justin worked the last part of the day in the rain, soaked through two shirts, and ended his shift by injuring his thumb/nail by jambing it against the car when trying to free his phone from his wet jeans pocket. I know, a freak thing, and wham!
He thinks the nail split (goosebumps up and down my arm thinking about that!) and it is pounding like nuts this evening. Ice was not his friend and he has wrapped it with bandages to protect it. Somehow he will have to try sleeping with his arm over his head to keep the blood out of his hand. That should be comfortable...poor guy!
When relatively small things happen to us, like the time I had an infected hang nail and was seemingly crippled by it, I wonder how in the world I would survive something serious happening to me. What a bunch of wimps we are sometimes. I do not wish to find out, however.
