........but I have fewer than when this year began! Once more its off to the dentist and then the endodontist to have my head/teeth examined. January 2, the fun started when I had a root canal after suffering with it over the New Year's holiday. Even missed church because of it.

Then yesterday I had a few zips dash through some of my top right hand teeth. I say 'teeth' because, as any of you who have had this type of toothache know, it's often difficult to determine which tooth it is exactly. X-rays showed two possible sources for the zipping sensation. So, this a.m. I appeared at the door of the endodontist, again, to have him take more pictures and make a determination. Yes, two areas, side by side, showing infection at the roots. One tooth was still alive, the other being treated many years ago and already had RCT, perhaps even in WI.

Dr. Smith, who greeted me warmly, called me "sweetheart", was able to take care of the more simple one right away today and I have to go back for the other one on Monday. Oh, brother! They should administer the nitrous oxide BEFORE giving the patient the estimate!!! For the equivalent of a lovely cruise in the Mediterranean, you can have two more root canals in 2008! And perhaps, replace a crown which will probably get broken in the process!!! But wait, there's more...no, not really, I just couldn't resist saying that.....

I asked the dentist if he was getting tired of seeing me and he said "Never!" Of course not! In WI, we used to tease that I bought my dentist a new horse every time I went to see him. Today's procedure brings me to 16 root canals in my adult life, including one tooth which eventually had to be pulled to make way for my wisdom tooth. Monday's procedure will be to re-do an old one, so I can't notch my belt over it. I don't know what hobbies or habits I'm supporting for this fine doctor but will keep him well supplied with something!!!

I had to go to Wal-Mart to get my prescriptions filled, which took a good half hour. Usually those minutes can be used to make other spur-of-the-moment purchases, but I didn't really feel like it today. While waiting, I got a text message from Justin asking if I felt like lunch, so I told him I'd be glad to meet him and have something soft. I ordered mashed potatoes with cheese sprinkled on it, which eased my growling tummy. Hadn't eaten anything since dinner last night with the ladies, and had 15 minutes to get to the dentist this a.m. No time for breakfast---it was all that I could do to get myself dressed and out the door, no time to eat. Justin was very kind and didn't complain about my drooling and slurping. Or the occasional spitting---I couldn't help it...I was numb up to the top of my head!!!!

Oh, and by the way, in case you're wondering---my legs DID feel heavy when we got done!!
