My oven is busily roasting some ribs which are bathing in bbq sauce. It won't be long before my house smells wonderful from the smell of food cooking. My tummy is growling right now so I hope I can last until the meat is done. I have purchased pre-mashed potatoes to have with the ribs. Every time I make this meal, I think about when we used to take turns cooking for our staff meetings at our business. Jimmie made the remark once, I'll never forget it, that he knew we were going to have "something good to eat" when it was my turn to cook! Yes, you read that correctly. Nothing fancy but good, comfort foods that work when cooking for groups. I'm a meat and potatoes girl, what can I say?

Tonight is a building committee meeting over at church. Wow, I haven't had a church meeting since last night! Of course, I don't mind, and am rather looking forward to hearing the status of the project, which appears to almost be on hold. Nothing new has happened on it since I left for WI. It is a painful process, this building project. We are going on at least 6 years from its inception and we are not finished yet. Do I sound frustrated? Well, I am! But do not fear, I will handle it and continue to press on toward the goal.

A couple weeks ago I was reading some information on-line about JAG, because I thought the commercial pitchman for the world edition of Monopoly looked like an "old" Bud, from JAG. It was surprising to me that the present program on TV called "NCIS" is supposedly a spin-off from JAG. How interesting that two separate programs involving the Navy have primary characters with the name "Jethro"! The Admiral on JAG was named AJ, with the J standing for Jethro, and the lead guy on NCIS is also Jethro. Coincidence? I don't think so!!! By the way, I never did determine who the guy is on the commercial, but the game looks really good. Justin would love it, I'm sure.

So much for the storm....it seems to have moved on toward the northeast without depositing the quarter-sized hail and 60 mile per hour winds it brought along. The smell is extremely delicious, I hope the bbq ribs are the same!

I know what you mean! Oh, that smell was more delicious, nearly, than the food was! The making of this meal is so no-muss, no-fuss but endlessly wonderful to eat. Have you tried the pre-made mashed potatoes yet? They are a great substitute for homemade.
I hope you have a marvelous weekend, my dear friend!
Love,
Kim
