A couple photos to share

This photo was shared with me by the class reunion(s) committee for years 1974-75. This is the number of kids (ha, ha!) who showed up from my class, unfortunately. I could have swelled this group if I had decided to make yet another trip to Manty this year but opted to miss it. Lord willing, I will be up in Manty for the Christmas holidays and can perhaps enjoy a mini-reunion at that time! From the looks of it, my classmates have aged nicely...

The other day I mentioned spending time in the pool with Maggie and Jessica (and Beckham!) where the ladies were discussing the pros and cons of certain foods. Jessica called me yesterday to see if I was at home, as she making a pot of green tea and offered to bring me a glass to try. She sweetened it with agava juice which one of my friends from Victory reported is used to make tequila! I might take a liking to green tea, if that is the case! Jessica also brought me a sweet treat: Nutella spread on a cracker, with a dollop of marshmallow fluff, singed with her little torch thingy. Talk about delicious.....She is attempting to help me wean from my addiction, and thought that green iced tea might be just the thing. We shall see....

On Sunday we had a horrendous storm roll through here, the one I mentioned scared me with the tremendously gusty winds. Here is a photo taken of the palms right outside my river room and even they were scared! In the river you can see white caps, which means the surf was up!

These palm trees are also being beaten about by the wind, and across the river, you can see the line of rain showers as it spread along the horizon. Again, notice the roughness of the water. "The sea was angry that day, my friends....like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli...."

What does that look like to you? Yes, me, too! No touch downs were reported nor did the weather station send out any cautions other than about the flash flood warnings. Some one had fallen down on the job, in my opinion!

The water is beautiful!!! Do you live near it? OH MY...Soooo did you decide you liked the green tea? My mom drinks it all the time and dearly loves it. I have been thinking of doing away with coffee in the mornings and going to tea!

I hear that it's better for you...Have a blessed day today Kim and yes, your classmates are still very young looking! WOW!!!

Hi Darla!

I live on the river, only it's three floors below me---straight down!

Have not yet tried making the green tea but very well might try to have more one of these days.

Thanks for saying they look young, even though some of them have grandkids already!

Laughing,

Kim

I just took a quick look at your blog. Very dedicated blogger you are! Didn't know you were a painter...interesting! On your class reunion photo, who is the blonde in the front row, on the end, in front of Steven? I think she was at the Well. Center desk when I was there a couple weeks back. Knew she had MLHS ties, but couldn't recall her name.

Hi Karen!

Welcome to 'A "Day" in the Life of Kim!' I post daily, almost always at least once, sometimes more if words overflow...

That young lady is Joan Jaegar Matte or Mattes, I cannot remember the spelling. I believe Lynn, my sister, was looking into joining the Wellness Center, too, so perhaps you will see each other there! And stop for ice cream afterward...

Yes, I dabble in painting and love love love to scrapbook. Linda prefers making greeting cards but it's the same process basically. Writing is my first choice, less messy!

I talked to Mom this afternoon and she said she had a great time at the Family Fun Night. Another rave review! Well done, my friend, well done!

Blessings and hugs,

Kim

Hi Kim,
Can you ID everyone in the picture. I know who some are but not all. Don't see anyone often enough!
Thanks, DeeDee

Hi Dee Dee!!!

I sure can ID them except for the two bearded men in the back row. In front are Joan Jaeger and Anita Siebert, Jeff Jaeger and Mike Schwarz. In the back row is Steve Lindeman, Pete Nass, Greg Habeck, Rick Schwarz, bearded man, Tom Schambeau, and bearded man, who might be John Rosenow. I should ask my sister, Jill, who was there at the reunion!

Hugs,

Kim

Who sent you the picture?

Oh, my goodness, I don't remember but she also sent me both booklets so you do not have to. I hope you didn't already....

Today Wendy Behnke sent me an e-mailed version of the booklet so I was forwarding that to my classmates who were not there.
