Not actually like chest pains but the other kind. There is sorrow that Kerry, my sister, is again suffering with her excruciating back/leg pain. She was waiting for her spouse to get up and ready himself, wanting to wait until it was light out. I asked Kerry to make sure the doctor's knew how the cortisone injection helped her so greatly last time, so that she can get to work tomorrow. If she does not, Kerry would lose her holiday pay. This is policy, and I lived under those guidelines when I was working in the telephone company business.

Today instead of Bible study we are again rehashing the experimental services we had at GS. Last week's session was difficult, to say the least, and was hoping this week we would move on to our study of Luther and the Confessions. Most of me wants to skip the 'class' but the other part thinks I should be there to witness, in more ways than one.

Judy C. had told me that she was going to stay after church to set up for Ladies' Advent Service since she also has Fellowship Sunday today. I called her yesterday to let her know that I would be going home in between church letting out and come back about 2:30 or so because I would need to rest a bit. That would be too long a stay for me, starting at 9:00 a.m. and going home after 5:00....nah! Especially because the Packers are shown on local TV today as well as the Jaguars, and I will at least be able to see parts of the games before going back to church. Justin is coming here after his church service gets out to carry some of the items to the car for me, since he was not coming last night. The young lady with whom we ate lunch a couple weeks ago after Bible study, Sarah, had to suddenly move, so the guys were helping her last night instead. Makes no difference to me when my car gets loaded but I sure would like to have help carrying things into the Fellowship Hall later on! Either way, he would not have been available to do that for me. So, I need to store my strength for lifting and toting and standing later this afternoon. Does that actually work, though?

The good news is that by mid-week we will see temperatures in the 80's again, but right now, there is frost on the pumpkin. Well, perhaps not THAT bad, but showing presently at 37 above zero. My understanding is that this cold front has affected 3/4 of the nation and I will appreciate it when it is over. Last night was pretty cold for those watching the boat parade downtown, the TV news showing folks wrapped in comforters, enjoying the boats and the fireworks. Two nights in a row with fireworks, first for the tree lighting on Friday night and then last night again. The Lawcock's stay downtown the night of the parade so will not be at church today. They are teaching Sunday school this year and I wonder who is taking their class. It is hard to plan for SS since sometimes a class will have three or four kids, and then the next week, none show up. Soon their class time will be taken up with preparations for the CHRISTmas Eve service, with CHRISTmas4Kids happening next Saturday. Where did the time go?

After today, rather, late afternoon, the time will be more free for me. The church newsletter is nearly ready to go, so I might e-mail it tomorrow morning, or perhaps even tonight, depending upon how I feel. Pastor called me with the missing information regarding worship times and Bible studies. Next, the condo newsletter must be put together and sent out, requiring less from me than does the church letter. Monday will be Bible study and lunch, Wednesday evening is choir rehearsal. Justin and I will spend Thursday at Bible study, followed by lunch at Maggiano's being provided by one the investment folks, Diane; and seeing "Broke: The Movie" at the Orange Park AMC 24, also with Justin. Thursday is "Justin Day"!!!!! I am so darn funny! Saturday night is the "Messiah" downtown which I will attend with Suzanne plus the choir from Victory. Very nice!
